Curriculum and Services
One of the common questions we have as we begin homeschooling, and really for every new year, is what curriculum and resources should we use? There are so many ways to educate your children. If you have never homeschooled before, you should first start to learn about different methods of homeschooling. Heather Lane from Townsend House and the Maine Homeschool Network Facebook page has a video here with some resources. This would be a really great place to start.
We have also come up with several other places that you can look for curriculum and resources. This is not an exhaustive list and we do not endorse any of these options. There are full curriculum options, both secular and with a Christian worldview. And we also have a number of individual subject options.
A wonderful website to use for curriculum reviews is Cathy Duffy Reviews. She has been reviewing homeschool curriculum and resources for a very long time and has a ton of great information on her website.
Two of founders are also homeschool coaches who would love to work with you! Heather is a homeschool coach who works with you to figure out exactly the resources you need in order to fit the rhythm you want for your homeschool. Ellen is MHEA board member and Maine certified teacher who provides end of year teacher reviews as well as homeschool coaching. Both women would love to help you out.
